One of my favourites is Nancy Sinclair (kittyscrapper on You Tube). She makes amazing layouts and is so very entertaining as well. Actually, she often has me laughing while I watch. So if for some reason, you have not discovered Nancy yet, head on over to her channel and be prepared for inspiration and fun :).
Nancy's challenge for her 500 subbie giveaway is :
- To make a layout (12 X 12 or 8.5 X 11)
- Use patterned paper as the background
- Include at least one embellishment cluster
- Use at least two stamps
One of the things I love about Nancy's layouts are her titles - they are often smart, a little sarcastic and funny! I tried to do that on this layout, as a little "cheers" to her. As you can tell, I can't really hold a candle to Nancy's title LOL. Oh well ... I think it's funny and it does reflect the photo.
The background PP is from Stampin' Up and the remainder are from two 6 X 6 pads - Dear Lizzy Neopolitan and Carta Bella Hello Again.
I included two clusters, one in the upper right portion and the other in the bottom left.
I used a few stamps : The hearts are stamped with the Hearts-a-flutter set from SU (and then die cut), the camera is stamped from the same set, and then I used a stamp from Simon says stamp for the arrows on the left side of the photo.
Another little cheer to Nancy is the doily, which I sprayed with Mister Huey's Bonny Blue mist. Doilies are fast becoming my new addiction :)
Finally, I used Studio Calico wood veneer, Simple Stories Homespun 2 X 2 insta die cuts, October afternoon Daily Flash, and Mini Market, alphas and Thickers.
There you have it! Thanks for stopping by.
A big thank-you to Nancy for the opportunity and congratulations on the 500 mark!
I love you have a blog!! I adore this page!! I think you get better and better in making layouts; so when do you start and become a designer lol? I don't want to push you (if you don't have time or something I'm not going to be angry), but you can also join my challenge, I made it open for persons who can make pictures and send it to my mail or on facebook :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow !!! my first ever comment AND member :) :).... Thank-you my sweetie. Actually, I have the day off today and am putting the finishing touches to my layout in response to your challenge (there is just no stopping me now LOL). And, of course I will be making a card and sending it to you. I am having such fun ... but as far as being a designer LOL, maybe not quite yet ... although you just never know a little later. big hugs xxx
DeleteYes and I will be following you until you get sick of me lol :)
DeleteNot very likely LOL. You are too sweet my friend xx
DeleteGreat layout, but AWESOME photo! So cute. Nancy is great at titles, isn't she. Titles are my nemesis, something that I should work on more!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Carlie ! and thanks for taking the time to comment :)
DeleteI love the color combination Moira. I find these colors very calming and pleasing to the eye which is perfect for the photo you chose.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Sue and thanks for stopping by. Happy Easter if you celebrate it :)
ReplyDeleteAnother great layout Moira! And your title too. I remember when I did not put titles on my pages....then....my tile was the names of who was in the photos....then...well, since I mostly scrapbook my grandkids.....they were pretty repetitive....so I started mixing them up. Nancy does have great titles. I have a blog too, I just forget to post anything on it, lol. I need to do that. Yep, I do.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by Roni, for the sweet comment and the follow. Titles are not always easy are they LOL. I have decided to concentrate on my blog for a while and do a little more than just being on our FB groups. I am not brave enough, or talented enough yet, do to You Tube videos. Maybe someday. I will look you blog up :)
